A first presentation of the project will take place on March 23, 2023 at 7pm at the Comptoir des Géants in St Maurice en Trièves (1h south of Grenoble)

A self-managed meeting will be proposed during May-June with all those, members of the association, who will have manifested themselves.

Vision

To create a semi-autonomous place to live, produce and experiment, participating in the resilience of the territory and preserving the harmonious link between humans and nature.

Three related and complementary dimensions:
– a semi-autonomous intergenerational living space (between 15 and 50 people, to be installed progressively over several years) linked to the rest of the local territory.
– reception center in the middle of nature (training courses, festivals, artists’ residences…) for small groups (about ten people) as well as large groups (several dozen to several hundred people).
– training and experimentation center for alternative lifestyles reconciling Human and Nature around two poles:
◦ reversible, non-invasive habitat modes (no foundations or soil artificiality). Ex: tents, yurts, tiny houses, kerterre, etc.
◦ artisanal production aimed at local self-reliance, interdependence, and resilience. E.g.: wild edible plants, pottery, basketry, blacksmithing, leather work, clothing making, carpentry, flint knapping, etc.

Search

– a land of minimum 5 Ha. Preference for a land of more than 10 Ha, or even several tens of Ha, in order to deploy the various research axes of our project (habitat, training, reception…) and to benefit from a diversity of biotopes.
– presence of one or more springs on the land, or at least presence of natural (unpolluted) drinking water.
– no opposite on human constructions, to favor the immersive experience.
– support from local communities.

Integration in a territory

Local interests and collateral benefits
– training and skills centre in the field of ecological transition
– A center for ecological research and innovation in housing and sustainable living: living houses, bioclimatic, without soil artificialization, integrated into the landscape.
– research and ecological innovation center for energy and food production/consumption
– respond to demographic pressure and the need for housing in rural areas, while respecting existing spaces
– demographic increase without any land artificialisation
– green tourism
– economic activity and jobs
– resilience of the territory in terms of energy, food, crafts (unpolluted).
– no opposite on human constructions, to favor the immersive experience.
– support from local communities.

Legal framework

This project could fall under different legal frameworks (to be considered according to the land and the PLU):
– leisure center
– glamping
– STECAL zone (if agricultural or natural zone on the PLU)
– ALUR law (law for access to housing and renovated urbanism) of 2014

Resources

– We are an association under the law of 1901.
– We are ready to create new structures if needed for the project
(SARL, SCI…).

– A young and dynamic team, with a degree (Master or Doctorate) and several years of experience in project management
– Adaptability and reactivity, due to the size of the team, its complementarity, and its efficiency.
– Ability to quickly mobilize resources and skills to serve our projects.
– Ability to organize events (trainings, internships, residencies, laboratories…) gathering several tens or hundreds of people around alternative lifestyles reconciling Human and Nature.
– Mastery of conflict management and consent-based decision-making tools (NVC, holacracy, etc.).

An address book of about 1000 people with a significant interest in our projects.
– Several hundred people have participated in our events and are progressively gaining skills in the areas of sustainable living.
– Several dozens of speakers specialized in multiple fields and able to transmit skills (see resource persons below).

We do not have any infrastructure at the moment.

Approximately 10,000 € of material allowing to quickly set up (in a few days) a place of life and training in the middle of nature without artificialisation of the ground and with little impact on the flora and the wild fauna. Equipment available: tents, tarps, tools, solar lighting, kitchen, educational material, safety devices…

– Digital tools that allow us to communicate quickly and efficiently about our
projects (FB, Instagram, Newsletter, Website: https://larencontredesreves.com)
– Several thousand people reached by our communication and projects in
international (mainly French-speaking Europe, but also the rest of Europe of
West and Central).

Several dozens of speakers specialized in multiple fields and capable of transmitting technical skills as well as sensitive approaches to nature:
– arts and creative expression: storytelling, poetry, music, dance, theater, clowning, martial arts, tree climbing, feral movement…
– Traditional crafts and skills: primitive pottery, basketry, primitive forge, wild woodwork, spinning, weaving, braiding, tanning, making skin clothing, flint knapping, building kerterres…
– naturalist knowledge: wild edible plants, wildlife, animal tracking, ethology, animal communication, sensitive connection to the plant world…
– autonomous health: basic care and first aid, risk management in mountain environments, wild medicinal plants, herbal medicine, phytotherapy, allopathic care, gentle osteopathy…
– autonomy in nature: ancestral fire, setting up a camp, itinerancy in the mountains, autonomy techniques, group dynamics…
– human-nature relationship: sensory food, ecopsychology, work that connects, deep ecology, inner ecology, sensory tools, 8 shields pedagogy…
– Conflict management and decision-making tools within a group: holacracy, NVC, active listening…

“A vision that is not accompanied by action is only a dream.
Action that does not flow from a vision is time wasted.
Vision followed by action can change the world.”
